Blanchard, Caddo Parish
Blanchard is a small community in northwest Caddo Parish, about fifteen minutes north of Shreveport along Highway 1 and Highway 1739. The town has maintained its rural character even as Shreveport has grown northward, with homes on spacious lots surrounded by the pine and hardwood forests that define this corner of the parish. For Blanchard homeowners, a custom pool and outdoor living space extends the natural, country setting into the backyard, creating a private retreat that feels far from the city despite being a short drive from downtown Shreveport.
The Blanchard area features the sandy, well-drained soils characteristic of the Caddo Parish uplands north of the Red River floodplain. These soil conditions are generally favorable for pool excavation — better-draining and more stable than the heavy clays found closer to the river. However, the area's mature tree canopy is a significant design consideration; our projects here are designed to preserve existing trees wherever possible, with pool and patio layouts carefully positioned to avoid root zones and to take advantage of natural shade.

A shotcrete pool with an integrated spa, designed to fit among mature pines on a Blanchard property without removing any significant trees. The project included a natural stone deck, a gas-powered spa spillway, and a shaded lounge area beneath the existing canopy.
An outdoor kitchen with a built-in gas grill, side burner, and concrete bar with seating for four, sheltered under a cedar pergola with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan. Built on a decorative concrete patio extension for a Blanchard family who entertains regularly.
A vinyl liner pool with a rectangular layout, deep-end bench seating, and a decorative concrete deck for a family on a multi-acre Blanchard lot. The project included aluminum safety fencing, LED lighting, and a mesh safety cover for off-season protection.
