Spring Ridge is a small Caddo Parish community in the pine hills south of Shreveport, situated along Highway 1 between Keithville and the De Soto Parish line. The name evokes the natural springs and elevated ridges that define the area's geography — a landscape of rolling hills, spring-fed creeks, and dense pine forests that creates one of the most scenic settings for outdoor living projects in the region. The ridge-and-valley terrain of the Spring Ridge area presents both opportunities and challenges for pool construction. The elevated ridge positions offer the potential for views and dramatic pool designs — vanishing edges, raised bond beams, and tiered deck systems that take advantage of the slope. At the same time, the elevation changes require careful grading, retaining walls, and drainage engineering to manage water runoff. From luxury backyard resorts to practical exterior improvements.
A shotcrete pool with a vanishing edge on the downslope side of a Spring Ridge ridge-top property, creating a dramatic visual effect where the pool water appears to merge with the horizon. The project included a connected spa, tanning ledge, and a multi-level concrete deck with a fire pit on the lower terrace.
A detached outdoor kitchen pavilion with a cedar timber-frame structure, propane-fueled cooking line, and a dining bar with seating for eight — designed as a standalone entertaining destination on a large Spring Ridge acreage property. Power, water, and propane were trenched from the main house.
A vinyl liner pool with a geometric layout, bench seating, and a decorative concrete patio with a pergola shade structure. Designed for a Spring Ridge family who wanted a pool at an accessible price point, with a phased plan to add an outdoor kitchen in a future phase.
