Keachi (pronounced "kee-chee") is one of the oldest settlements in De Soto Parish, a tiny community known for its historic Keachi Female College ruins, the antebellum homes scattered along the country roads, and the dense pine forests that define the landscape between Shreveport and Mansfield. For homeowners on the large acreage tracts around Keachi, privacy and natural beauty are the primary assets — and our outdoor living designs are built to enhance rather than compete with that setting.
The soil in the Keachi area is predominantly sandy loam over red clay, which is workable for pool excavation but requires careful attention to water table management during the wet seasons. Many Keachi properties sit on five-acre or larger lots, which opens up design possibilities that simply are not available in suburban subdivisions — long pool complexes, detached pool houses, extensive outdoor kitchens with dining pavilions, and meandering patios that connect multiple outdoor zones.

A sprawling L-shaped shotcrete pool with a natural boulder waterfall, integrated spa, and a separate fire pit lounge nestled among mature pines on a ten-acre Keachi property. The design preserved every significant tree on the site and created distinct zones for swimming, lounging, and evening gathering.
A detached outdoor kitchen pavilion with a timber-frame cedar structure, full cooking line, dining bar for eight, and a stone fireplace — designed as a standalone entertaining destination on a large Keachi acreage property. Power, water, and gas were trenched from the main house.
A formal brick patio with a low garden wall and columned pergola entry, designed to complement the architectural character of a historic Keachi home. The project created a defined outdoor room that frames views of the surrounding property while providing shade for afternoon entertaining.
